Although it kept its first-place spot from last weekend, the earnings for the Chris Hemsworth action film slipped. Last week, in its opening weekend, Thor: The Dark World earned over $85 million.

In second place at this weekend’s box office was The Best Man Holiday, which earned $30.6 million. This was the opening weekend for the comedy/drama, which stars Taye Diggs and Morris Chestnut.

Both of the top films from this weekend’s box office are sequels. Thor: The Dark World is a follow-up to 2011’s Thor, while The Best Man Holiday is a sequel to the 1999 comedy The Best Man.
