Wesley Matthews scored 24 and Damian Lillard added 19 for Portland, which shot 54 percent from the field.

Despite playing without Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Andre Kirilenko, the Nets came out of the gates running.

Brooklyn (3-7) scored 40 points in the first quarter before slowing down. Shaun Livingston started the game and finished with a team-high 23 points.

The Trail Blazers (9-2) are now a half-game behind San Antonio and Indiana for the best record in the NBA.
