Man Punches Police Officer

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – An Idaho Falls man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly punched a police officer. 31-year-old Christopher Schmid was approached by officers at the Common Cents store on Broadway because he was wanted on outstanding warrants. He’s accused of punching one of the officers and trying to run away. He was apprehended when one of the pursuing patrolmen deployed a taser. Schmid remains held in the Bonneville County Jail on a felony charge of battery on an officer.
