Netanyahu, who believes that Iran can’t be trusted, is using the Mossad, Israel’s top spy agency, and military intelligence to uncover evidence amounting to a “smoking gun” that Tehran is continuing the nuclear activities it agreed to freeze in order to have some international sanctions lifted.

If the Israelis can show Iran is not acting in good faith, it would certainly make it difficult to work out a long-term deal, much less convince U.S. lawmakers not to impose additional sanctions on Iran when the Senate gets back from recess next week.

According to The Times, Israeli intelligence is looking for hidden uranium enrichment sites as well uncovering ballistic missiles and bomb design.

One official is quoted as saying, “Iran would not have invested such a fortune [estimated at $200 billion] if in the end it does not produce nuclear weapons and turn Iran into a regional superpower.”
