“Walking with Dinosaurs” Opens Friday

Getty 122013 MoviePopcorn?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1387535192422Creatas/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues officially opened on Wednesday, and in its first full day of release, it made $8.1 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Friday, a few more films arrive to your local theater.  Here’s a closer look:

Walking with Dinosaurs: The live-action/animated tale follows an underdog dinosaur who becomes a hero.  John Leguizamo and Justin Long are cast members of the film, which is screening in 3D.  Rated PG.  [Click here to read a review]

Expanding into wide release:

Saving Mr. Banks: The film chronicles the contentious relationship between Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers and Walt Disney that eventually led to her story hitting the big screen.  Emma Thompson plays Travers, and Tom Hanks is Disney.  The film also stars Colin Farrell, Bradley Whitford and Paul Giamatti.  Rated PG-13.

American Hustle: David O. Russell’s drama, set in the 1970s and inspired by the Abscam scandal, follows a con man and his female partner, who are forced to work for an FBI agent.  The film stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Renner.  Rated R.
