(2) Syracuse Uses Defense to Stay Unbeaten

Syracuse (19-0, 6-0 ACC) received 16 points and eight rebounds from Jerami Grant as the Orange now need one win to match its best ever start to a season.

Miami (10-9, 2-5 ACC) may have lost, but it put up a fight. The Hurricanes trailed by as much as 18 points in the first half but used their defense to help fight back and attain the lead. But Syracuse held Miami to one field goal the final 8:19 of the game to secure victory.

Davon Reed led the Hurricanes with 16 points.

Tyler Ennis scored 14 and C.J. Fair added 13 points and seven rebounds for Syracuse.

The Orange will attempt to tie its best start to a season Wednesday when it takes on Wake Forest in North Carolina.
