(25) Oklahoma Hangs On to Top (12) Baylor

Mitchell Layton/Getty Images(WACO, Texas) — Down by two with seconds remaining, Baylor’s Royce O’Neal hoisted a 3-point shot that was good except for it left his hand just after time expired allowing No. 25 Oklahoma to hang on and beat No. 12 Baylor 66-64, on Saturday.
Despite losing, Baylor (13-4, 1-3 Big 12) did a good job of coming back. Down seven with 30 seconds remaining in the game, the Bears’ Isaiah Austin made back-to-back 3-pointers to pull Baylor within one. Oklahoma freshman guard Jordan Woodard then made one of two free throws to put Baylor up two with nine seconds remaining. But Baylor couldn’t get a shot off in time allowing Oklahoma (14-4, 3-2 Big 12) to win for the second time in three games against a ranked team.
Buddy Heild had 19 points and eight rebounds in the win.
Kenny Cherry scored 16 points and dished out five assists for Baylor, which has its 13-game home winning streak snapped.
