The 6-foot-11, 230-pound Parade All American from Germantown, Wis., was a top-100 recruit for former Marquette head coach-turned-Indiana head coach Tom Crean.

“Marquette allows me to be closer to home while playing at the highest level for a great academic institution,” Fischer tweeted.

During his short time with Indiana, Fisher never could get in a groove. He dealt with a shoulder injury much of the preseason and didn’t play much during the regular season.

In 13 games for Indiana, Fischer averaged 10 minutes, 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Fischer, who won’t be eligible to play until the middle of the 2014-15 season, should get plenty of opportunities to play at Marquette. The Golden Eagles’ top two big men — Chris Otule and Davante Gardner — are playing their final season in Milwaukee this year.
