Clashes Kill 49 on Anniversary of Anti-Mubarak Uprising

Photo by Ed Giles/Getty Images(CAIRO) — At least 49 people were killed in clashes in Egypt on Saturday on the anniversary of the overthrow of former President Hosni Mubarak.
According to the Egyptian Health Ministry, 49 were killed and 247 injured in 24 hours of clashes. Thousands of protesters also gathered in Tahrir Square praising Egyptian leader General Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi.
The BBC News reports that arrests were reported in Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt.
The clashes come three years after an uprising that led many to hope that Egypt would undergo political reform.
