GOP Committee: Legalize Marijuana

(HAILEY, ID) – A group of Idaho Republicans want to legalize marijuana.   The Blaine County Republican Central Committee has adopted yet another resolution calling for the regulation and taxation of the drug. The committee is also calling for stiffer penalties for illegal drug trafficking. The proposal is almost identical to the measure adopted by the committee last year, citing the purported “failure of the War on Drugs” and the black market. Officials say they don’t want to encourage drug use, only reduce the control cartels have over the drug trade.
