Robinette added a rushing touchdown to help the Commodores (9-4) build a 24-0 lead.

Houston (8-5) rallied to tie the game at 24 going into the fourth quarter.  Vanderbilt’s Brian Kimbrow took a direct snap 21 yards into the endzone to give the Commodores the lead for good.

“The thing that’s interesting about this team is they know how to win,” Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin said.  “It’s not always pretty, it’s not always sexy, but they find ways to win and that’s why I’m so proud of them.”

Matthews was named the game’s MVP after catching five passes for 143 yards and two scores.  He became the SEC’s all-time leader in receptions this season.

Vanderbilt closed out its season with five consecutive victories.
