Pacers’ West, Kings’ Malone Fined by NBA
Published at(NEW YORK) — The NBA issued two fines on Sunday that totaled 40-thousand dollars. Indiana’s David West was fined $15,000 while Sacremento head coach Michael Malone was penalized $25,000.
West was issued a flagrant foul 2 and ejected after elbowing Los Angeles Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin in the jaw during the first half of Saturday’s contest. The Pacers would go on to beat Los Angeles 106-92.
Malone was fined for verbal abuse of an official after Sacramento’s 91-90 loss to Memphis on Friday. The Kings’ coach screamed at referee Marc Davis following a jump ball call with 1.9 seconds left instead of calling a foul and giving Sacramento a chance to tie or win the game at the free-throw line. The Grizzlies won the jump ball and the contest.
