NFL Shield(ST. LOUIS) — The St. Louis Rams fired defensive coordinator Tim Walton on Wednesday after one season.

“I would like to thank Tim for his hard work and contributions to our defense,” Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said in a statement. “I wish him well in the future.”

The Rams finished with the 2013 season with the 15th overall defense. They also had 53 total sacks and allowed the 13th-most points in the NFL at 22.8.

Before coming to the Rams in 2013, Walton spent four years as secondary coach with the Detroit Lions.
