Utah Student Pays Tuition in Dollar Bills
Published at(SALT LAKE CITY) — The tuition is too darn high, so University of Utah student Luq Mughal did something about it: he paid his tuition bill this week with 2,000 single dollar bills.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Mughal is protesting a hike in tuition that has seen prices more than double within the past decade, from $2,742 in 2002-2003 to $6,511 this year.
Mughal said he spends weekends working in order to pay for tuition and books. He’s hoping to send a message with his method of payment.
