Wasden Joins Same-Sex Marriage Lawsuit
Published at(BOISE, ID) – Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is intervening in a federal lawsuit challenging the state’s same-sex marriage ban. Wasden will join Gov. Butch Otter in defending against what he considers a “constitutional attack” on the state’s voter-approved amendment that defines marriage exclusively between one man and one woman. Four couples filed the lawsuit in November, alleging that the ban violates equal protection and due process guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
