Rakeem Christmas made a steal and passed the ball to Tyler Ennis who dished it to C.J. fair for the game-winning layup with 6.7 seconds remaining giving the Orange a 56-55 win over NC State Saturday night, keeping Syracuse undefeated.

Syracuse (25-0, 12-0 ACC) has now outscored opponents 17-0 when trailing or tied in the final minute of regulation or overtime.

Christmas led Syracuse with 14 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks and Jerami Grant added 12 points and 14 boards, as the Orange is now seven wins shy of the best start in ACC history.

NC State (16-9, 6-6 ACC) played strong all night, holding Syracuse to 35 percent shooting from the field. Sophomore forward T.J. Warren led all-scorers with 23 points but couldn’t get his final shot to fall with time expiring.
