John Wall, Eastern Conference Win NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest
Published at(NEW ORLEANS) — Washington guard John Wall put an exclamation point on the NBA’s slam dunk contest Saturday night for the Eastern Conference with a two-handed reverse jam.
Wall, playing alongside Indiana Pacers guard Paul George and Toronto Raptors forward Terrence Ross swept the Western Conference team of Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes and Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore, 3-0.
In the three-point challenge, San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli outlasted Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal in a tiebreaker, 24-18.
Utah Jazz guard Trey Burke and Lillard took home honors in the skills challenge with a tenth-of-a second win over Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams and Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo.
All-Star Saturday night began with Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, Basketball Hall of Famer Dominque Wilkins and Swin Cash of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky successfully defending their shooting stars title.
The challenge between the East and West ended in an overall tie at 2-2.
