According to attorney Mark Heller, Fox News guest Michelle Fields stated on a program titled Great American Panel, which aired on February 4, that “Lindsay Lohan’s mom is doing cocaine with her.”

The letter says Fields’ statement was false, “reprehensible, egregious and hurtful,” in part because the show had “grimly cited a parade of dead celebrities” including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Cory Monteith and Michael Jackson.

Heller claims the “Show and commentary seemed to maliciously foreshadow to the viewers that the Commentators could ‘see it coming’ as a reference to the possibility that a celebrity such as Lindsay Lohan might inevitably become the next icon to join the infamous obituary list.”

The letter calls on Fox News to issue an apology and retraction, and to remove video of the program in question from its website.
