New Jersey Family Robbed at Gunpoint on Valentine’s Day

iStock/Thinkstock(DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J.) — A community is shaken by a Valentine’s Day delivery that turned out to be a home invasion in southern New Jersey Friday night.
Police say two men, one holding flowers, forced their way into a Deptford Township home and robbed a family of cash and jewels at gunpoint.
Resident Mike Bauer says it’s scary that the robbery happened around 7 p.m. “It’s kind of strange that people are coming home from work that time and there’s always cars up and down the streets,” Bauer said. “Very surprising. We don’t usually get much action around here. It’s pretty quiet. Everybody kind of knows each other.”
Police are still searching for suspects.
