With 6.2 seconds remaining on the clock, Smart attempted to block Jaye Crockett’s dunk attempt from behind.  He stumbled out of bounds behind the basket and appeared to exchange words with a fan in the front row before lunging for the fan and pushing him.

Smart had to be pulled away by players and coaches and was assessed a technical foul but was not ejected.

Oklahoma State (16-7, 4-6 Big 12) lost their fourth straight game.  After the game head coach Travis Ford declined to discuss the incident because he did not see what happened and didn’t want to comment without seeing video of it.

The Big 12 plans to investigate the matter on Sunday.  Oklahoma State next plays at Texas on Tuesday night.
