Skier Caught in Avalanche, Survives

(KETCHUM, ID) – A skier was injured in an avalanche near the Sun Valley Resort Thursday afternoon. The slide happened at about noon on Bald Mountain. The man suffered minor injuries and remained on the mountain with rescue crews for about two hours until he could be moved. Avalanche danger was considerable for most of south-central Idaho and the Sawtooth range, where fragile, wind-swept slopes are easily weakened by human activity.
