(BOISE, ID) – Ten Idaho lawyers have agreed to work for free on behalf of 44 gay rights activists arrested in the state Capitol Monday. Boise criminal defense attorney Dan Skinner says he’s supporting the “Add the Words” campaign because he believes everyone deserves equal protection under the law. Former state Sen. Nicole LeFavour, Idaho’s first openly gay lawmaker, helped organize the protest. The group wants the words “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” added to Idaho’s laws banning discrimination on issues of housing, employment, and business service.
