Two More House Democrats Won’t Seek Re-election
Published at(WASHINGTON) — On Tuesday, two more Democrats decided not to stick around to see whether Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi can win back the House majority.
Rep. Rush Holt, an eight-term Democrat from New Jersey, decided to retire and Rep. Gloria Negrete McLeod, a freshman Democrat from California, has decided to run for San Bernardino County Supervisor rather than seek a second term in the House.
Those decisions mark the 19th retirement and the 16th decision to seek alternate office.
Democrats must achieve a net gain of 17 in order to win back the House.
