Is a Sequel to “Top Gun” in the Works?

Ian Gavan/Getty Images(LONDON) — Tom Cruise, in an interview with Sky News, said Top Gun 2 is still in the discussion phase with producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
“Nothing’s decided,” Cruise said on the red carpet of the Empire Magazine’s Film Awards in London Sunday night. “If we can get over some stumbling blocks it will be fun to do.”
A fifth Mission: Impossible will be shot after his latest film, Edge of Tomorrow, which debuts on June 6.
Cruise received Empire’s Legend of Our Lifetime award at the event. Also of note, Arnold Schwarzenegger received the Action Hero of a Lifetime award, Cruise’s M:I co-star Simon Pegg won the Empire Hero award, and Hugh Jackman was given the Icon trophy.
