Microsoft Office for iPad Generates Rare Excitement
Published at | Updated at(SAN FRANCISCO) — It’s been a while since the world got this excited for the release of a new Microsoft Office product, but Twitter erupted with enthusiasm Thursday after Microsoft announced it would release PowerPoint, Word, and Excel apps for the iPad.
New Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made the announcement at a conference in San Francisco Thursday, noting that the apps would become available in the app store at 2 p.m. EST.
The company has long held off on releasing its apps to Apple products, and has only made them available on products that run Windows software. Office 365 Home Premium is priced at $99 a year.
So #Microsoft #office is finally available for #iPad! #apple #woot #yay!!
