Report: Former Penn State Coach Says He Was Molested as a Boy

Chris Gardner/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — A former Penn State assistant football coach who testified against Jerry Sandusky in his child sexual abuse trial was molested as a youngster, a new ESPN The Magazine report says.
According to ESPN, Mike McQueary made the admission to various players shortly after a grand jury accused Sandusky in November 2011. McQueary reportedly broke down into tears and said he should have done more to stop Sandusky, who was eventually convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse of 10 young boys over a 15-year span.
McQueary has not yet confirmed reports of the alleged admission before his players. The scandal involving Sandusky, the Nittany Lions former defensive coach, also ended the career of head coach Joe Paterno, who died in January 2012 of cancer.
After not being retained by Penn State, McQueary filed a $4 million whistle-blower lawsuit against the university. He is currently unemployed.
Meanwhile, McQueary, 39, will also testify against a number of former Penn State officials later this year, including one-time president Graham Spanier, who have been accused of covering up Sandusky’s long history of preying on children.
