“Star Wars: Episode VII” Set to Begin Filming

Lucasfilm Ltd.(NEW YORK) — Star Wars: Episode VII is set to start filming this May in London, Lucasfilm and Disney announced Tuesday.
The highly anticipated film, co-written and directed by J.J. Abrams, will pick up 30 years after Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, which was released in 1983.
The announcement said to expect new and familiar faces in Episode VII, which could be a nod to rumors that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill will reprise their roles as Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker, respectively.
It’s also been rumored that Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o could be cast in the film as a female lead, as she met with Abrams days before the Oscars. Also, Girls‘ Adam Driver is rumored to be cast as an unnamed villain.
Episode VII will hit theaters in 2015.
