With the victory, UConn (34-0) becomes the 14th team to enter the NCAA tournament without a loss. They have won 40 straight games dating back to last season. Bria Hartley scored 16 points, while Stefanie Dolson added 10 points and 16 rebounds.

The Cardinals (30-4) got off to a slow start and the Huskies capitalized, taking an 18-point lead at halftime.

It was the 16th straight loss by the Cardinals to the Huskies. Connecticut head coach Geno Auriemma still refuses to take Louisville lightly if they do meet again in the NCAA tournament.

“I’m not naive enough to think that we can play Louisville twice a year for the next 10 years and they never beat us,” Auriemma said. “They are too good a team and he’s too good a coach for that to happen.”

Shoni Schimmel paced Louisville with 20 points.
