Otto Greule Jr/Getty Images(ALLEN PARK, Mich.) — The Detroit Lions signed receiver Golden Tate to a five-year deal Wednesday.

Tate told ESPN’s Josina Anderson the deal is worth $31 million with $13.5 million guaranteed.

Tate, 25, had 64 catches for 898 yards and five touchdowns for the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks last season.

Tate joins an offense that was third in the NFL in passing yards last season.

“Not only because I’m going to have the opportunity to learn from Calvin (Johnson), but (Matthew) Stafford has a great arm, a strong arm. I see this team being good, being good for a long time, winning a bunch of games,” Tate said Wednesday at his introductory press conference. “You know, I was sitting in my bed last night watching highlights of Detroit and I just felt like I could call this place home.”
