Browns Giving Vince Young a Tryout
Published at(BEREA, Ohio) — Vince Young will be in Browns camp on Tuesday for a tryout at minicamp this week.
Young has not played in the last two seasons, but general manager Ray Farmer wants to see what Young can do with the opportunity.
“He’s had success in the National Football League,” Farmer said. “We wanted to take the opportunity to get the chance to see where he was. We’d been kind of following him through the offseason. He’d been doing some things that kind of caught our eye and made us kind of take note.”
Young last played with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 and has 50 starts since being drafted by the Titans in 2006.
The Browns have also brought in Tyler Thigpen to compete for the backup role to Brian Hoyer, who is scheduled to be the starting quarterback.
Thigpen has played in 29 games in six seasons and was with the Packers during preseason last year.
