Hearing to Continue for Embattled Teacher

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – A due process hearing that will determine the future of a longtime Snake River High School teacher will continue tonight. Last Friday’s meeting featured over eight hours of testimony from nearly a dozen people. Elaine Asmus is accused of harassing and bullying a new co-worker, as well as others during her career. Asmus says she’s being unfairly targeted because the complaining teacher is the wife of the superintendent. Her attorney also notes that prosecutors are struggling to identify specific incidents warranting termination. The hearing begins at 6 p.m. at the high school auditorium.
