NTSB: ‘No Evidence’ of Fire Before Collision in LA Bus Crash
Published at(ORLAND, Calif.) — The National Transportation Safety Bureau announced on Sunday that there was “no evidence of a pre-impact fire located at the accident scene, on the median, or on the highway.”
Eyewitnesses had told police that the FedEx truck was on fire before the collision.
NTSB investigators were able to conclude that the driver of the FedEx truck did not apply the brakes prior to the accident. The bus driver, they said, attempted to swerve to avoid the crash, as evidence by skid marks at the scene.
Ten people were killed in the crash and dozens more were injured.
