Jackson gave the OK for the jet to be used in the search — with the company that operates his jet accepting a charter offer, Radio New Zealand first reported.

The Gulfstream G650 jet, which can reach speeds of 700 miles per hour, is being used to relay messages between the search crews. Jackson’s spokesman, Matt Dravitzki, said the director wasn’t seeking publicity for the situation.

“A lot of civilian and military aircraft are involved in the search and it’s kind of disappointing that because one is owned by a celebrity it becomes a matter of news when there are [over] 200 people missing,” Dravitzki told the New Zealand Herald.

That search resumes Wednesday with 10 aircraft and nine ships, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was carrying 239 people when it went missing on March 8.
