(OPAL, WY) – A small town in southwest Wyoming had to be evacuated following a natural gas explosion Wednesday. The community of Opal with about 95 people and is about 100 miles northeast of Salt Lake City remains evacuated.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Lincoln County spokesman Stephen Malik said Thursday there’s no estimate of when residents will be allowed to go home because it’s not known how long it will take for all the gas in the plant to burn off.

There’s no immediate word on what caused the explosion
