Completion of D Street Underpass Set for Mid-August
Published at(IDAHO FALLS, ID) — The City of Idaho Falls announced on Wednesday that the new completion date for the D Street underpass is set for mid-August. The project that began in March of 2013 was expected to be finished last month, but a derailment outside of the area back in March forced Union Pacific Railroad crews off of the project for a time.
As part of the agreement with Union Pacific, the vehicular crossing at Lava Street will be permanently closed at the completion of the D street project.
The city also announced that a new ADA compliant pedestrian railroad crossing at B Street and Yellowstone is now open.
