(NEW YORK) — Halle Berry returns to TV in a new drama premiering on CBS Wednesday night.
The Oscar winner stars in Extant, which is executive produced by Steven Spielberg. She plays an astronaut who returns home from a year in space and learns that she’s pregnant. She deals with the shocking news while trying to re-establish her relationships with her husband and their robot son.
Extant marks Berry’s first leading role in a television series, though she’s appeared on the small screen in the past. Her most notable TV credits include Knots Landing and the HBO movie Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, the latter of which earned her an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
Extant premieres at 9 p.m. Eastern time on CBS.
