(JACKSON, WY) – A Nicaraguan man has been sentenced to 39 years in prison for the murder of a woman from Jackson Hole. Thirty-seven-year-old Karen Coclough was robbed, raped, and murdered in April while volunteering for a mission trip with her church. Investigators believe Coclough had ventured out to a secluded beach near her hotel when the attack occurred. Under Nicaraguan law, the suspect can only remain behind bars for 30 years. Coclough, who was originally from Massachusetts, had been helping families in the Matagalpa province at the time of her death.
