IND George Paul? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1408201945544NBA via Indiana Pacers(INDIANAPOLIS) — Pacers All-Star Paul George spoke for the first time since breaking his leg during a Team USA scrimmage in Las Vegas on Friday.

George wasn’t putting any of the blame on Team USA for his “freak accident” and even said that he wanted to play on the 2016 Olympic team.

“Freak accidents happen,” George said. “USA Basketball doesn’t deserve any criticism from this.”

George said he plans on being a leader on the bench for the rest of his teammates while he recovers.

“I plan on making a full recovery coming back from this,” George said at a news conference. “I’m taking this in a positive way. I get to sit back and watch the game — and just learn.”

George and the Pacers haven’t set a date for his return, but the All-Star wants to fully recover before he gets back on the court to avoid any other injury.

“I feel guilty about not being there for the start of (the) season,” he said. “To not be a part of that, it hurts. Something I have to live with.

“The last thing I will do is feel like I am not a part of this team because I’m out.”
