(NEW YORK) — Veteran free agent Shawn Marion will sign with the Cavaliers sometime this month, reports ESPN.com.
Marion believes that with the additions of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and other veteran free agents like Mike Miller that Cleveland is the best place to compete for an NBA title.
The Cavaliers are restricted to only pay the big man a league-minimum salary of $1.4 million.
Marion also met with the Indiana Pacers last week, but his pursuit of winning a championship is what made the difference.
Marion averaged 10.4 points and 6.5 rebounds last season with the Mavericks.
