Two Journalists Among Five Killed in Gaza Explosion

David Silverman/Getty Images(GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip) — Two journalists were killed and another one critically injured Wednesday morning as they were reporting on a team of Palestinian bomb disposal experts who were attempting to defuse an Israeli rocket.
The sudden blast claimed the lives of an Italian cameraman, a Palestinian translator, both who worked for the Associated Press, along with three members of the bomb disposal unit. A Palestinian photographer, also working for AP, is in critical condition after the blast.
At the time of the explosion, the bomb squad was trying to neutralize a Israeli rocket that had landed in a northern neighborhood of Gaza City at some point before the start of the current ceasefire.
Israel denies carrying out any airstrikes Wednesday, reports the New York Times.
