Yates Elected GOP Chair

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – An Idaho Falls man will serve as the new chairman of the state Republican Party. Businessman Steve Yates was elected by a secret ballot at a meeting in Boise on Saturday, following several weeks of infighting and lawsuits among former state leaders.
Yates defeated Mike Duff of Blackfoot and Doug Pickett of Oakley. He previously worked as an aide to former Vice President Dick Cheney.
