Tribal Leader Dies

(FORT HALL, ID) – A former Shoshone-Bannock tribal leader has died. Delbert Farmer passed away on Sunday.

Farmer served as a chairman and council member on the tribal council, as well as a Shoshone-Bannock festival coordinator. Tribal officials described the 72-year-old as a prominent member of the Fort Hall community and a “dear friend to many.”

Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Traditional burial services will follow on Thursday afternoon at the Gibson Cemetery.
