49ers Cut Ray McDonald

Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The San Francisco 49ers cut defensive lineman Ray McDonald on Wednesday after new allegations of sexual assault against him were announced.
In October prosecutors said they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him with domestic violence against his pregnant fiancee.
Now police are investigating the new sexual assault charge.
McDonald had played all season long despite calls for him to be benched due to the investigation.
San Francisco was eliminated from playoff contention after their loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
