Published at(LONDON) — After a Las Vegas-bound Virgin Atlantic jumbo jet encountered a landing gear problem Monday, it returned to its departure site at London’s Gatwick Airport.
Shortly after take-off, the plane’s crew knew something wasn’t right with one set of landing gear. After dumping fuel off the southern English coast, the crew made the decision to come back– a practiced emergency procedure.
