Did Oprah Give Ellen DeGeneres the Flu?

ABC/Ida Mae Astute(NEW YORK) — Even celebrities aren’t immune from flu season.
On Friday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, host Ellen DeGeneres said she contracted the nasty bug while at Oprah Winfrey’s gospel brunch, held inside her home in Montecito, California. Apparently, the two are neighbors.
“I got it from you!” DeGeneres told Winfrey, who was on her daytime talk show to promote her latest film, Selma, which expanded to more theaters Friday. “It was the brunch. You said, ‘I feel like I’m coming down with the flu.'”
“You got it?” Winfrey asked, shocked.
DeGeneres responded, “You gave it to me. I was so proud. Oprah gave me the flu y’all!”
Winfrey also spoke about Selma, revealing that because of the generosity of 27 African-American business leaders in New York, middle school students in the Big Apple will be able to view the film for free. According to The Hollywood Reporter, students will only have to provide a student identification card or report card to be admitted to participating theaters. The initiative runs through Jan. 19, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, or while tickets last.
Selma centers on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s voting rights march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965. Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo portrays King in the film.
