New Mom Eva Mendes Has a New Appreciation for Motherhood

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Eva Mendes thinks her six-month-old daughter Esmeralda has given her a new appreciation for motherhood.
The 41-year-old actress confesses in an interview with TV’s Extra that she finally understands what her mother went through all those years she spent raising her.
“Now I understand so much, my mother’s never gotten more ‘I love you so much mommy’ texts, I mean, randomly…ya, I get it now,” Mendes admits.
The actress tells Extra she’s also learned the secret to keeping the spark in her marriage to actor Ryan Gosling alive: “You can’t do sweatpants…ladies, number one cause of divorce in America, sweatpants, no!”
