‘Cheater’ Banner Flew Overhead as Bobby Flay Received Hollywood StarPublished at | Updated at
(LOS ANGELES) — When celebrity chef Bobby Flay received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday, he had an unexpected visitor.
Just as he took the stage to deliver his remarks, an airplane towing a banner that read “Cheater” flew in the sky above the Food Network star. The plane and banner reportedly circled overhead until Flay finished speaking.
Flay is in the midst of a nasty divorce from former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress Stephanie March. The two were married for 10 years and separated earlier this year.
According to the New York Post‘s Page Six, Flay cheated for three years on March with Elyse Tirrell, who was a hostess at Flay’s Bar Americain in 2008 and later became the chef’s assistant.
A rep for Flay told the Post, “This specific allegation was in a letter sent from one attorney in this case to the other…then leaked specifically to try to insert this story into the press.”
E! News also reports a rep for Flay sent them a statement about the cheating allegation, which said: “We will continue to refrain from responding to the continued efforts by certain parties to spread rumors and innuendo…Even more unfortunate is that all of this is being done in order to renegotiate a pre-nuptial agreement that was agreed to over a decade ago and never amended during the marriage.”
This was Flay’s third marriage and the first for March. The couple does not have any children together, though Flay has a daughter from his second marriage.
