Nintendo President and CEO Dead at 55

(NEW YORK) — Nintendo Co.’s president and CEO, Satoru Iwata, died at the age of 55, the company announced Sunday.

Iwata, previously the CEO of Nintendo of America, was 55 years old. The company said that his death was caused by a bile duct growth.

Video game website Kotaku says Iwata joined the company in the 1980’s, became a director in 2000 and was appointed the fourth president of Nintendo in 2002.
