Play Suspended at British Open Second Round, Dustin Johnson in Front
Published at | Updated at(FIFE, Scotland) — The second round of play at the British Open was suspended for dark on Friday evening, and will resume at 7 a.m. local time Saturday.
When play was suspended, Dustin Johnson held a one-stroke lead at 10 under par for the tournament. Johnson still has five holes to go in his second round. Fellow American Jordan Spieth was tied for 15th place, five strokes off the lead.
Tiger Woods, however, looks likely to miss the cut when he finishes his second round Saturday morning. Woods has shot a five over par for the tournament thus far, with six holes to go in his second round. Eighty-three players players are currently at par or better, and only the top 70 advance to the final two rounds.
If Woods does miss the cut at the Open, it would be his third missed cut of 2015 — the most he’s ever missed in a year. He’s missed 14 cuts in his entire PGA Tour career.
