While invitations have not been sent for a possible event, the likely focus of a September event would be releasing next generation versions of an iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. The timing for an S cycle release would match with Apple’s previous pattern of releasing its S cycle version of the iPhone 5 in September 2013.

Among the biggest updates expected for the possible new iPhone release are an even sharper camera, faster processor and force touch technology, allowing users to press parts of the screen the same way they would a button, according to reports from 9to5Mac and BuzzFeed.

Apple hasn’t commented on the reports of an event, however it’s also worth betting that in true Apple fashion there will be “one more thing” or perhaps even a few more things.

It’s possible the company’s newest iPads will be shown off, according to BuzzFeed, along with the potential for the next generation version of Apple TV.

Apple’s most recent financial report reveals an impressive 47.5 million iPhones were sold during the three months leading up to June and up 35 percent from a year ago. However, the number fell short of some analysts’ expectations.

There’s certainly no denying the massive success of Apple’s latest iPhones. The company said last year it sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models in the first weekend they were available in stores, making it the company’s best launch ever. Having another launch this fall could have the potential to once again jolt sales.
